Terms of Service

Last updated: June 29, 2026

By using Modulo Radio you agree to these terms. Modulo is a free radio discovery and playback tool for web and Android, designed for simple listening without accounts, subscriptions, payments, or personal profiles. We do not own, host, or control the audio streams available through the app.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Modulo Radio ("Modulo", "the app", "the service") at moduloradio.com, through an installed web app, or through the Android app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of Modulo after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

2. What Modulo Is

Modulo Radio is a free application that acts as a directory, player, and discovery interface for publicly available internet radio streams. Listening does not require an account, email address, subscription, payment, or personal profile. Modulo may include features such as favorites, recent stations, random station discovery, personalized "Tuned For You" discovery, temporary favorite share links, background playback, lock-screen controls, Bluetooth/car controls, now-playing metadata, and playback diagnostics.

Modulo does not:

Station data is sourced from the Radio Browser community database (radio-browser.info), an open, community-maintained project. When you play a station, your device connects directly to that station's streaming server.

3. Third-Party Content

All audio content streamed through Modulo is owned by the respective radio station operators and their licensors. Modulo claims no ownership or rights over any audio content, station names, logos, trademarks, or stream metadata displayed in the app.

Radio stations and their streams are operated independently by third parties. We have no control over:

If you believe a station listed in Modulo is broadcasting content that infringes your rights, please contact the Radio Browser community directly at radio-browser.info to have the station removed from their database.

4. Favorites, Share Links, and User Data

Modulo uses Firebase to anonymously sync your favorited stations. Your favorites are stored under a randomly generated anonymous ID with no name, email address, or personal account information attached. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

If you create a favorite-share link, you choose to make a compact copy of the selected favorites list available to anyone who has the exact link. Share links are intended to be temporary and expire after approximately 24 hours, but you should treat any link you share as accessible to anyone who receives or forwards it during that active period.

You are responsible for deciding whether to share a favorites list. Do not create or distribute share links in a way that violates another person's rights, violates the law, or abuses Modulo's infrastructure.

5. Android App, Background Playback, and Network Use

The Android version of Modulo may use a foreground media playback service to continue audio while the screen is off or the app is in the background. While playback is active, the app may show a persistent media notification and support lock-screen, Bluetooth, headphone, and car media controls.

Modulo may use Wi-Fi, cellular, or other available network connections to maintain playback. To reduce interruptions, the Android app may detect a failing Wi-Fi connection, request cellular availability, and warm up a second muted player before switching playback. This may use mobile data. You are responsible for any data charges, carrier fees, or device battery usage that result from streaming audio or using background playback.

Playback diagnostics and buffering telemetry are used to improve reliability and troubleshoot issues. Diagnostic information does not guarantee that playback will be uninterrupted or that every network handoff will succeed.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Modulo only for lawful personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

Modulo is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:

9. Intellectual Property

The Modulo name, logo, app design, and original source code are owned by Modulo Radio or its operators. The Radio Browser station database is owned by its respective contributors under its open license. All radio station names, logos, trademarks, metadata, and content are owned by their respective operators or rights holders.

You may not copy, reproduce, modify, or distribute Modulo's source code, branding, or proprietary app design without written permission.
